True, you really do have to stamp on the pedal tho, I wouldn't call that having a heavy foot tho, it's more like you say emergency safety feature...

Absolutely, it wasn't a criticism of your post, but I was a bit concerned that anyone reading the thread may think that buttons need pressing to disengage the system before the car will allow itself to be accelerated.

No worries,

Paul

This job should never be complete - the day I think I've done it all, is the day I resign.

No worries mate! :-)

I don't use the speed limited thing, odd feature, not ever come across one like that before, in my experience they normally flash and beep when you exceed the chosen speed, apart from
This not experienced one that actually (partially) restricts your speed...

So is there an alternative to having to go the dealer to have the CC display unlocked?

Hi, it's not at all essential to have the cc switched on..
However you can buy yourself a Renault clip, around 170 on eBay for a Chinese one and that's suitable to do it yourself.. Alternatively you can go to a decent auto electrician. They will charge for an hours labour, generally about 45. On another forum I suggested having a group buy of one of these clips an then sharing it round after each person has say a weeks use...
