This is NOT a recall.. It is a Technical improvement..

A recall is exactly that.. and will be Safety related.. in which case the manufacturer contacts the owner and requests that they attend a dealer ASAP to have some rectification work done on the vehicle..

The work that is required on the Megane II is an addition of a Retaining clip for the Electric window regulator cable sheath.. It is to stop the regulator failing early in its life..

The work will only be carried out when the vehicle is next taken to a dealer for service or repair.. Or if you request that it is carried out as you now know that the improvement exists..

Re: Renault Megane 2 - Window Regulator Recall

Hi all,

I was reading through this thread with some interest as I have been having problems with the electric windows on my Megane II sport 2006. The passenger side window stopped working 6 months ago, makes no noise when operated, just acts like its not getting power.

The working windows often refuse to open or close completely with one touch or by holding the button up or down. They will only move an inch or two and have to press the button 7 or 8 times to open or close the window completely.

Could this be something to do with this recall / improvement that may not have been carried out on my car? If not, any ideas?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can reset the windows to get rid of the inching problem

Try a forum search for window reset and you should find the method

Re: Renault Megane 2 - Window Regulator Recall

Marcus if you wind the window all the way up and hold it for 10secs then all the way down and hold it down for 10secs this will reset the window limits and stop the inching problem!

The other window may be stuck because the window regulator is broken. Here is how i fixed my driver side one!

Hope this helps

Re: Renault Megane 2 - Window Regulator Recall

same problem as everyone here window regulator goosed went to Bury Renault today who informed me that renault would foot 75% of the cost of the repair, they would only offer that info if pressed, however the window motor/regulator must be reattached to the car so that their mechanics can then take it off again!!!! where's the logic in that and what on earth do you do in a rainstorm when your window sticks in the down position?? well common sense says you put the window in the up position and wedge the window closed, whilst in there you may as well detach the offending window motor/regulator no??? well renault are just being asses to my mind to add insult to injury the girl behind the service desk then informed me with a smile on her face that my car was 10 days outside of warranty and renault would not be able to do the work on my window!!!! apparently this is a very very common problem and renault have known about it since day 1 but have not got the decency to inform owners of this issue, presumably because the less they publicise it the less money they will have to fork out on repairs to a known issue. I have established that the motor is fine but I need the 6 pin anti pich module that sits on top of the motor has anyone on the forum got a working 6 pin anti pinch module for fron passenger side window please???
