Was driving the girlfriends 04 Megane Coupe 1.4 16V yesterday and a warning light started flashing on the dash. When I looked it up it said it was the Toxic Fume Filter. Which Im not sure what it is but sound's straight forward. However when we came to a stop the car was chugging stightly and when I began to accelerate the engine misfired slightly.
Can anyone tell me if the two are connected and if so how or what needs fixed. It's less than two years old and she's not a happy bunny (only bought it a month ago).
Thanks

If she bought it from a garage or dealer I would take it straight back to them to sort it out. The "toxic fume" filter warning light could mean any number of faults ranging from a straightforward filter replacement to an electronic fault.
If the car was bought privately the first thing to check would be the air filter and that all leads are fitted correctly, no loose connections anywhere.
