Re: Renault Megane - Electronics - Headlight Problem with Megane 2.0

the fuse lay out is on internal surface of the fuse box cover. But i have similar problem too......
my renault megane 2006 both dipped headlights and front right fog light stopped working. I replaced the right side dipped headlight bulb abd the fog light lamp, but the fault persisted. Tried to turn on the light in both manual and auto mode. Fuses are ok too. I am suspecting wiring, or the relay. to do that i guess i have to remove the engine interconnection unit. Now i need advice if i will have to re-program the EIU after disconnection. or if there is anyway I can remove the EIU without disconnecting the plugs so that I get access to the relay. I would also need a tip if anyone can tell me where the dipped headlights relay is located. Any help appreciated.

i am having this problem too replaced main beam bulb but it still works intermitent turns out it could be loose fitting block connector to the bulb as if i give the headlamp unit a sharp bang it comes back on, as a result to rectify this i know have to remove the front bumper panel to get lamp unit out and squeeze the connector tighter, bit of a pain to do but its the only way because of limited access to wiring from the wheel arch

Yours sounds like a damp/wet fuse box,,,
Normally, it is, take the fuse box out, ( the one under the bonnet)
Battery off,,,,, then fuse box cover,,, then the nut/pin, coming from the red positive lead going to the fusebox..This needs undoing. and lifting out the way..
The fuse box then needs maneuvering out to get at the multiplugs, these are held on by plastic tabs, these tabs need pressing in..
Be careful and look closely at each multiplugs as some have two tabs that have to be pressed...
Once the multi plugs are off, inspect closely for any green ( verdigris) looking pins..
Spray your multi plugs and connections with electrical contact cleaner..
Avoid penetrating oils, such as wd40, if at all possible, on any of your electrics,, as this builds up a film, and as renault do not like any excessive resistance through the wiring system, another problem arises after the penetrating oil starts to dry, between the two contacts

One of the most wonderful things in life is to wake up and enjoy a cuddle with somebody; unless you are in prison.
