Re: Megane II Throttle Style Handbrake EXPOSED

update; spent about 2 hours trying to get an extra spring to go somewhere in side the handle, the lever wasnt returning fully to the right, so the rod operating the rachet wasnt engaging further down the handle. so instead got a 1mm drill and drilled another hole lower down on the handle (inbetween original hole and a moulded re-inforcement on the handle) so that the spring was under more tension------------it works !!! car is going back for retest in the morning.

Re: Megane II Throttle Style Handbrake EXPOSED

As with most, i only checkout these forums when there's an issue, and on jumping into my son's megane whilst i looked after it while he went on holiday, i noticed the handbrake was really difficult to release, so on checking out this fab forum i too found that the 2 screws were loose due to the plastic that they screw into having broken into bits!
Well i removed it, used the Plast-aid that was recommended to stick them back together, and what a result! better than new :-)
Bought the stuff off ebay , about 18 i think, well worth it.
Also repaired the passenger window using the magic box of tricks from well spent. both these repairs would have cost me 500 in parts alone had i replaced the handbrake and regulator.
Cheers guys :-)
