Make a hole on the side near the top.Use a tin snips to cut along the top edge on one side,cut down from this an inch or 2 on the wide panel.

Now you have a sump drain container..
Place the can(cut side up) under the sump.
Drain the oil .
Stand the can up, now you got all the old oil in a container.
That's a really good tip BUT check how big your sump is first. ..... said the man with 5 litres of old oil in a can and the remaining 3 on the driveway
