Re: Grand Scenic Electronic Handbrake Stripdown Plus Photos

Is there any way at all that i can do anything with the cable other than replace it? My EPB works fine - the arm on the caliper seized in the locked position - i have been under and freed the arm up. Now everytime the handbreak is disengaged the arm moves back to about a mm before the stop part then the cable covering starts to move away from the part that holds the cable onto the caliper revealing a small amount of cable on the opposite side to the c-clip. I dont really want to open the epb as i have heard that both disconnecting the battery and/or pulling the yellow release cable both ends up with warning lights on the dash and the handbreak needing to be reprogrammed/reset.

Is there anyway to sort this out or do i need a new cable as the garage want me to get a whole new unit.
