Re: Can i drive after MOT fail or not?

A valid MOT certificate does not mean the car is continuously roadworthy during the following year after the date of issue.

About 7 years ago a mate of mine totalled his Fiat Weekend over a ditch into a field. His car had been MOT'd 3 months previously. When he made a claim against his insurers the insurance assessor checked the tyres and found two to be beyond the legal limit. At first the insurers refused to pay out deeming the car to be unroadworthy at the time of the accident. After a lot of argument they settled but reduced his payout by 25%.

Whilst you can drrive your car with a valid certficate it doen't necessarily mean it is roadworthy.
