Winter fuel economy

As the temps have dropped over the last week or so have any of the members noticed a drop off in their fuel economy. I run a 2002 1.5dci extreme that usually averages 58-59 mpg on the trip. After filling up this week i reset the trip and now it reads 53-53.5 mpg.Do you think it could be winter diesel or something else.
