If, you were to receive a refund, and the dealership have no obligation to offer a refund, you could only expect a maximum of the current market value of your car (or an equivalent), not what you paid for it.
I think I would argue that there has to be proportionality with the amount of service you had from the vehicle, how many times it went in for repairs, and how much hassle you were caused by the faulty vehicle they sold you. I would definitely expect some recompense for putting up with it.
