With the bonnet up, look on your right hand side and you'll see the wiring loom going thru a large grommet into the car - it comes out behind the glovebox - Spray the wiring AND the power cable you're trying to fit liberally with some WD40 or suchlike and ease the cable thru the grommet alongside the rest of the cables. It might take a few sprays but as long as you keep a steady push on it, the cable will end up either coiled up behind the glovebox or on the footwell on the passenger side. You could remove the glovebox as its only held in with about a dozen or so torx screws but there really is no need.
