As far as I'm aware, even if you get a fob from
and get a new blade cut by someone else you still need to go to a Renault dealer to get the fob programmed.
I bought a SAAB fob through
last year and my local dealer could not get it to match the car as the frequency was incorrect for my year. Total waste of money!
Maybe someone out there will know if all the Renault RF fobs are the same, however it would appear that the most straight forward solution would be to get a second key complete from Renault.
I don't know what they charge for reprogramming only but they quoted me £150 last week to supply and program a new key & fob.
