It's working fine with my 6230 (which is more than can be said for my TomTom GO 700.)
You've probably already tried this, but just in case you haven't: Have you set up the phone to automatically accept connections from the car? In the case of the 6230, it's the following menus:
Then highlight 'MY-CAR' and press the options key. Scroll down to 'Auto.conn without confirmation' and make sure it's set to 'yes.'
Another possibility is that you have another paired device (e.g. bluetooth headset) switched on. While Bluetooth is supposed to be a networking protocol, most phones can only handle one bluetooth device at once. This is certainly true of most Nokia models.
