Jacking Point - Laguna I

This should, I suppose, be in the Laguna section but for some reason I cannot open a new thread?????????? Perhaps someone could kindly move it there?

My question is; where should I safely jack up my Laguna 1 Ph. 1 using a trolley jack and where should I position axle stands?

According to Haynes I should use a wooden block under the sill next to the jacking point. When I tried this there was terrible noises and I finished up with a deformed sill at the front driver's side!

Thanks for your answers and a Happy New Year to all (and may you wake up tomorrow where you expect to and with a clear head ).
