The ECU is the "brain" of the car. And is located underneath your scuttle panel, you know where you jack is kept, well underneath that.

Its basically a plug in box. The earlier clios had no immobiliser- 1992- 1994. It will ocst you about 30 from a scrap yard for one. You will however loose your immobiliser if you take this option and will need to infomr your insurance company.

Ring round a few renault breakers, you can usually find them in the back of the auto trader. And ask if they have any clios, same model as yours but 1992-1994. If they do ask for the ECU . Once you locate it its easy to swap over, as I said you just unplug and plug in.
