Re: Mileage checking
It all sounds quite odd IMO. Even on a minimal mileage you wouldn't normally leave a new car to go 18 months before a service. I'm very surprised there are no records of a basic
change type service and general check over within this time. Is this because the car was 'imported' and the supplying dealer didn't offer any kind of servicing agreement?
Also 500 miles a year seems extra-ordinarily low, even as a 2nd vehicle, unless it was bought as a future classic to put away until it reached high values in future years?
Have a look at the tyres...they should tell the story. If the mileage is only <6k there should be plenty of tread left and they should all be the same brand. If the mileage is a high as 35K then they would either near bald or probably changed for replacements in pairs in which case you'll find the brands mixed (its unlikely tyres are replaced with the same brand as which the car left the factory with). Don't forget to include the spare tyre in the checks for the brand.
