Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the thought you put in to it. I felt I should clarify what I was trying to do as you did ask if I wanted all four wheels or one side up. As you say, the wider the spacing of axle stands the more stability there is.

Just to clarify, do you mean you jack at the "inboard" side of the sill seam rather than the "outboard" side that I used, or is there a chassis rail further inboard? Haven't had a chance to have a proper look at the construction yet (and it's dark now).
