Thumbs up Renault Laguna I - Phase 1 - Interiors - Climate Control Panel Removal

I have a 2.0 rxe 1996 laguna which appears to need to have the digital control replaced ( confirmed by a dealer ).
Did not like the 900 replacement cost quoted to me so have bought one from ebay very cheap. However this came from a 1996 3.0 V6 and has an extra button for a heated windscreen.. anyone know whether this will be a problem
that would stop the whole panel working, or whether as there is no heated screeen in my car it would just become a redundant button. Also anyone got a comment on how much work is involved in replacing the unit...

tks in advance
