Hi, I had a very similar problem with my clio, took it to a garage and the plugged it onto the computer and apparantly it needed a new flywheel sensor. Got a new one and it worked fine for a couple of months then it started playing up again. It didn't start one day when I was in the carpark in Tesco! I called the RAC out and the bloke fiddled with the white and green wire that is connected to the sensor and it has started every time since! Apparantly it's quite a common fault on renaults and renault make an adaptor plug to fit on the end of the wire that goes into the sensor. It costs about £15. If the wire is not connected properly or is in the wrong place or bent out of shape the car wont start. Hope this helps!
just got plug today here is a pic of it is this the right one looks like the same one to me.
and where do those 2 plastic plugs go on.
