Thumbs up ide engine 2ltr ide

Hi all

My engine a 2 ltr ide has now done 85,000 and not missed a beat (apart from when some numpty put wrong plugs in) driven it through pouring rain and it is never garage parked still on original clutch ect .
The ide engine was not withdrawn due to faults well that is faults as in faulty engines it was designed to have good mpg ie to compete with diesels and this it was never going to compete with . The unit was quite an expensive one to produce it was designed with Renault & volvo and various units were put in megans to lagunas to volvo from 99-03 they gave way and stopped producing the engine technology had moved on with diesels .
Yes there are the odd owner who has had a bad one but hey in this forum people are most likley to moan . Look at the amount of diesel faults only a few people write to say they are having problem free motoring .
All in all i am happy with the engine but let down by poor Renault customer service and 88 per hour labour costs

Thanks ide man
