Got every bit of the cars history, the owner before me was not 100% problem free, he had the
go on him and some electrical faults, all carried out my independent Renault specialists, and likewise with all the services (past and present). there are no recurring faults as far as i know except from my issue with the diesel injectors which i returned twice to Lookers Renault. (charged on both occasions, but has the £80 diagnostics fee refunded the 2nd time.)
The car will be leaving me on the 20th of Jan, all the paper work is done etc. Will this prove an issue if i contact Renault CSD?
If they replaced the injectors and they didn't last a full 12 months, they should not have charged you anything the second time (unless you decided to give them a good bash witha club-hammer or something). Even if they lasted that long but not much longer, you would still have grounds to claim because these things are not intended to last only 12 months. As Renault dealers, Lookers have certain responsibilities that
have some authority over.
Did you have any
problems? If so, you need to see if they did everything they were supposed to do when they sorted it for the previous owner and how good it was after they did it. Did the previous owner ever take it back to them because he wasn't satisfied with it?
may ask you to take it to your nearest main dealer for assessment but I rather think, this is going to be a paper exercise if you don't have the car available for them to fix. No harm in asking though.
In case I haven't said so already, you have 110% of my sympathy and I sure wish I had seen this thread before. I can only apologise, for missing it.
