Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Resonating noise from behind glovebox ? + Cure ! ;-)
Car recently started to make a loud vibration/resonating sound under acceleration, appearing to come from behind glovebox. Having read about this "noise" before assumed it was the air filter intake pipes loose and was going to carry out webcodes advice about securing the parts together with self tappers. This was not the problem unfortunately.
It turned out to be one of the wires from the rain/light sensor "touching" the plastic cover which hides the sensor/wires - this noise was then "travelling through " the windscreen and being "amplified" making the sound appear to come from behind the glovebox.
Cure - removed sensor plastic cover, bunched wires together and re-routed them slightly & secured with a cable tie. Re-fitted and vibration has gone.
Worth remebereing if anyone else gets a similar vibration noise. Its amazing how sounds resonate and transmit through other parts of the car making you think noise is from somewhere else.
