Re: replaceing rear callipers, hand brake cable

The end of the handbrake cable is hooked into the handbrake lever on the caliper, release this first by pushing the lever forward with a screwdriver or something while you pull the cable free with pliers or molegrips.

Once the end of the cable is free the handbrake cable just pulls out of the hole it fits through on the caliper, this is just a push fit but it may be weathered in so you may have to carefully "persuade" it out with a hammer & drift.

If you don't have enough free loose cable to unhook the end of it you have two options:

Remove the caliper from it's mounting and clear of the disc, the lever should now be able to be pushed forward enough to release the end of the cable.

Alternatively you can adjust the handbrake mechanism off a bit. This can be done in the centre console storage box under the drivers arm rest.
Working inside the storage box lift the piece of material at the bottom of it to reveal the adjusting nut....wind this off some to allow slack in the cables

There's some pictures in >> THIS THREAD << to give you a clear picture of the caliper and the hole the handbrake cable fits into.
