If you want to save money and get something that works great, go to Tesco and buy their own brand Wheel Cleaner.
It was about £2.47 for a 500ml spray bottle and is a weak hydrochloric acid solution. They also do a special brush for wheels. It's got a blue handle and black bristles and looks like a small bog brush. I think it was £1.99.
I do mine every week when I wash the car and they come up like new.
I did ones on a friends 306 that had never been cleaned for 3 years and they were covered in like a brown lacquer of dirt. I sprayed this stuff on and left it for a minute - admittedly, I had to really scrub, but they came up nearly as good as new.
I reckon the bottle of cleaner will last for about 25 sessions so it is brilliant value!
