Hi again if that is the case you put the wire to the negative on a single coiled car.I have done this many times before when i bought the rmp guage i should of checked this first but it would not have made any differance i do not know where you would get a rpm guage for a car with coil packs apart from my renault dealer because they are put through the ECU

you will probably 4 wires

1 live feed

2 will be for your backing light when lights on (YOU MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE THIS)

3 wire that goes to - negative on your single coil pack or coil ( NOT +)

4 earth
