Re: Renault Scenic II - Replacing A/C resistor... hanging light sensor!

Purchased 2004 Grand Scenic (with A/C) with no blower working yesterday.

Pulled out the resister pack this morning.... & yes it is different to the non A/C type. Connector with 2 wires was very difficult to remove, turns out the bottom part had started to melt to the other half.... but reparable.

Was about to order a new resistor, but 1st had a look inside & found the soldered joints of 2 pin connection looked wrong, so re-soldered & re-fitted.... GREAT it works..... However.........

On re-assembling I have noticed a "sensor/Switch" hanging down behind the steering column, it looks like a light sensor (photo-electric cell) & the wiring colours (2 wires) are, 1st is Pink 2nd Brown/Slate.

Not sure what it does, if it should be connected to something, but it seems wrong just hanging behind the dash!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
