Hello again,

I've put it through an MOT and failed on a few things.

Brake pipes have corroded badly at the back, a track rod end needs replacing, the brakes have a 33% imbalance, and the mechanic mentioned that the paint is flaking off the front shock springs.

The track rod end shouldn't be too expensive (I've changed one before on a carlton), and I hope the brakes will improve with a brushing and some use (though new pads might be splashed out on should it be absolutely necessary!), and I don't think I'll worry too much about the paint on the springs just now.

But how much is a fair price to pay for having a garage fit new brake pipes? Is it a particularly tricky job on a Laguna?

So, at worst, it's rear brake pipes, front shocks, front disks, front track rod ends.

Anyone prepared to suggest a rough estimate of the cost?

It's a P reg RTI 2.0S Laguna.
