yep ,checked this all ok , temp gauge only ever reaches halfway and all seems fine except for light , thanks.
Sometimes the header tank doesn't have enough coolant in it to activate the level detector. I experienced this in a mercedes recently. The engine temperature was fine but the light kept switching on or off at random. You could make sure that the coolant is up to the marked level when cold. If the sensor is dry, you will get all sorts of odd behaviour from it.
My book is for the Laguna and the only round-red light I can see is the immobiliser blinker which (funnily enough) should blink when it is activated. Maybe someone with the correct manual can shed more light?
