Not being negative ottoman. Constructive ("further assistance") surely?

I'm only raising a relevant point. That is pointing out a major obstacle that he has in his way that he may not have thought of. Lets not give the chap false (negative?) hope. That is what I think you are all doing, allbeit all of it well intended.

I would guess not having the car in your possession that you are complaining about and - looking for compensation for, was a pretty important point in any negotiations.

I just can't see a car manufacturer dealing with a claim on a 2nd hand car sold without warranty, not through a main dealer or even a dealer but sold privately.

As I said to Chris good luck. I will be interested to hear If he is successful.
