I think you'll have to wait for the climate change to reach Scotland then, ey? Unless you have very long arms and ultra-long legs and can drive from the passenger side.... you're not an ex-policeman by any chance (long arm of the law and all that)?

The matrix would only block, in my opinion, if you use too much antfreeze gel or possibly hard water which is most unlikely in Scotland. I think I would go with the airlock theory. What are the chances of connecting a hose to the system and letting it flow through for maybe an hour with all controls fully open? Are there any unusual thermo valves that may have been overlooked and are not opening when needed?

Just my thoughts again but I imagine you will have already tried all this.

I'm surprised no one has come up with a solution for you though.

If I find anything out, rest assured that I will let you know.
