Re: Renault Kangoo - Diesel Starting Fault*FIXED*

We seem to have a similar COLD starting problem on our 2006 1.5 Dci Kangoo - I've seen several suggestions for a fix but, me being an idiot, I wonder if someone could help out with a comment please?

Basic story: the car takes an age to start when the weather is cold. Not wet, but cold. When the car's running it goes great and in warmer weather starts on the button.

\\ Full service history from new (110k)
\\ Just been serviced
\\ New glow plugs fitted
\\ New beefy battery fitted

But as soon as it's cold outside the thing takes five minutes of cranking to get started - during which the dashboard glow-plug light and engine "stop" lights occasionally light up.

I've seen comments about solenoids and glow-plug relays or something not controlling the correct amount of [wold weather] fuel but would really appreciate it is someone could enlighten me a little before I approach the garage...

Or might this be the sort of thing someone with basic car skills like me could try and diagnose / fix?

Thanks in advance everyone.
