'96 Megane Petrol, Intermitantly loses power whilst being driven. Feels as though the car is being held back, sometimes just judders and comes back to life, other times it judders then cuts out. No lights show on dash to suggest problems.
Does it whether its a warm or cold engine.
Anyone have any suggestions?
It sounds like either fuel starvation or electric loss.
Check for leaks in the fuel lines and for "soft" wires that might have a broken core or may be arcing against the chassis at certain attitudes. Check that your ignition system is well put together and no loose or corroded wires.
If you have a leak on the suction end of your fuel pump, it would be sucking in air and that's what it will deliver further up instead of petrol.
There may be many other reason but that's a good place to start, i.e. visual checks. Good luck, Missy.
