Is there anything that I can do to improve the efficiency ?????
This can be caused by the repeated short journeys. When the car is cold, it is fed more petrol until it warms up (remember the old fashioned choke on carburettor barrels). So you would expect it to use more fuel. The time to check your MPG is when you take it on a long run especially on a motorway at a steady speed like 70 mph. If you want lots of mpg on short runs, you will have to buy yourself a little Clio-size diesel. Lots of them around but be sure you find a decent one.
