I'm with Glenda's suggestion, though I find the easiest permanent live is probably on the centre two pins of the central locking switch. Be sure to check polarity with a multimeter before wiring up, then just lop the plug off (there's no fuse in it is there?) and wire straight in. Access to the rear of the switch is a doddle - just unclip the handbrake gaiter, lift up the centre armrest, grab the rearmost edge of the centre console and pull.

If the plug does have a fuse, then either fit an in-line fuse holder, or buy a cigar lighter socket to wire to the back of the locking switch and use the existing plug. Though if you're going to hide the plug and socket, it'd be best to securely tape them together, as lighter plugs have a tendency to work loose through vibration.
