I have managed to sort out the Lighter socket in the dash? There was a 20amp fused supply right next to the Cinch connector. On checking with a multi meter this supply was available without the keyfob in? I connected the positive Lighter supply to this fused supply on the side of 0 Volts (when the fuse was removed) which should give me some protection. One thing to note is that you need to cut the positive (orange) lead on the loom that connects the Lighter socket as when i thought i had completed the work, the dash light and display stayed lit and my stereo wouldnt turn off once i removed the keyfob! I must say this was very awkward to do as i couldnt remove the Lighter socket and i had to use a Scotch Connector to bridge the connections this was a slightly modified 15amp connector.

I now need to do a similar thing to the boot lighter socket?
