Did they lift the car on the jack it off all or front wheels. ??
Suppose they must have to be looking properly for a steering fault.

If so you could have a problem with one side, caliper or sticky cable.
This can stop the parking brake working on one side but not show a fault until the relevant wheel rotates slightlywith the brakes on, triggering the movement sensor which could bung up the fault message.

Trouble with that theory is that you've just past the MOT and a weak parking brake or significant inbalance would have failed it
