If it is only a small loose part the size of a nail. It should glue back in place with 5 min epoxy (or superglue if you are carefull!) Glue it in and hold it till set then trim any surplus of with a razor or similar flat blade then touch up should do the trick if it is that small.
If you use film on it, it spreads the resin/filler leaving you more work to blend it in. The other chips are better done with epoxy putty. You can take a small amount and fill the chips shape it with a soapy (washing up liquid) finger to get it smooth. Much better than filler and gets a good finish that usually does not need sanding. Again limiting how much blending you need to do.
