It's always a given that dealers will charge more for a part or labour then small independant motor factors and workshops.
To be honest it sounds like your Toyota dealers are being reasonable. Assuming similar labour costs to Renault, I'd guess at 15 mins labour and cost of the filter.
Considering my local Renault has a minimum half hour labour fee, that would have been 47 quid plus parts.
Or an independant may have quoted 20 including parts and been quite happy with a simple 5 minute job,
While there are people stupid or rich enough to pay dealers through the nose for simple jobs like a filter or bulb change they will charge what they can. And hopefully the small independants will continue to prosper from it.
Of course it does depend on whether it is a simple job. Having to dismantle half the scuttle on a Scenic for an air filter change is ridiculous as is having to remove the battery for a fuse check.
