If your not doing a lot of miles then the petrol is a wise choice.Sure,the diesel would be more economical,but the car is more to buy and diesel is more expensive too.

Firstly, Lagdti thanks for your reply. Second, for the last several years I've been driving a Fiat Punto JTD and from what I have gathered from other diesel and petrol drivers, it's no more economical than the petrol version when driven in the city. I guess at the end of the day, a lot will depend on how the vehicle is driven, petrol or diesel.
