Are you sure it's run out of diesel and not broken down?.
Ooops used to have a scania 142 lorry a few years ago bloody lift pump away thats what i had to do most mornings not much of a technical mechanic but watched our diesel fitter do this so was just trying to help.

But there you go you learn something new everyday thank you.
