Yep, I had a 71 Karmann Ghia for a few years, none of this mucking about!

what does the resistor pack look like mine has two screws holding it in and when removed it has a ali heat sink and two large disks riveted and soldered i can see no thermal fuse ay all it also has a relay when the plasic cover is removed

any one help me locate the thermal resistor pack i have removed dash top and i have removed the pack that is secured to plastic heater box by 2 screws removed black plastic covers but there is no thermal fuse inside car has air con or am i looking at the wrong part

Thermal fuse set up!

William,

What Type of car have you got? Mines a 99 phase 1 Scenic. Once you remove the left hand air duct to the left dash air vent, it's right in front of you.

Try taking out the pollen filter and looking up the hole! You can clearly see the thermal fuse.

Knowing Renault they have probably changed the resistor pack set up! Mine was just a metal 'core' with thin copper wire wound around it and the fuse was right next to it...no cover or heat sink!

thanks for reply its a r reg 1998 but my thermal pack looks nothing like yours but it must be the correct thing i am looking at but my heaters work on no 1 setting and no 6 setting which is more powerfull do you think it could be the switch thanks william
