Check Air Vent Drains as Well

Now I just need to sort out my blocked sunroof drain (water in footwell !!)
May not be sun roof drain Steve. Check drains in fresh air vent between windscreen & bonnet. If blocked, water can enter footwells via heater ducts.

Many thanks, Barny. The whole process took me about 2 1/2 hours, including nipping down to the Ironmongers to pick up a 5amp chocolate bloc and, low, my wife's Scenic RX4 now has variable fan speeds.
I also found the pictures in really helpful.

Re: Fan will come off!

Ahh, I'm glad someone else has come across this. My wife's Scenic fan has packed up (I'm sure it's the motor rather than the resistor pack as it tries to run on speeds 1, 2, 3 and 4 but can't quite 'catch' and spin up) and I nearly got the motor out from under the dash but that bracket got in my way too.

So, I shall invest in a new hacksaw blade and chop the end of that ludicrously long bracket.
