Question Renault Scenic - 1.6 Alize Owners Feedback

Does anyone here own one of these renaults and if so advise me on what they are like to own?

And also, I've heard they have secret compartments around the inside, where are they and what can they store?

Alize secret compartments

New here and have a sport alize. I love it. Although My first impression of driving it was I can't do this, felt too big and bus like, but then I've only had experience in hatchbacks before, clio and polos, so the driver position felt very awkward. Taking bends at anything over 50mph scares the living daylights out of me.

Had this 6 months and it has become noisy and chuggy, whole reason I'm on here I think it's the coils .

Secret compartments, one draw under each front seat, CD storage ? In the back there's two floor compartments, can probably fit a lunch box in each with a little room to spare.
In the boot a couple of side compartments quite small.

Took the three back seats out last week to discover a compartment the runs the width of the car with three different openings under each seat, hard to describe how big it is, but cetainly useful for hiding valuables.

I'll bet there's more hiding somewhere.

Thumbs up

Had a 98 Alize and after that a Alize Sport, now on my 3rd Scenic in nearly 10 years.

Nice level of equipment, hardwearing interior, loads of space, good mpg, Not to big to park (like a people carrier) and has a boot (not like a people carrier) and will accommodate 5 adults and luggage on a journey.

One the other side, handling a bit of a pig if you want to "make a bit of progress", performance not really something to shout about and can be a bit scary on the A Road overtake but that isn't really what you will be buying it for is it ??

If you drive to the cars capabilities then they are nice all round family cars and the level of equipment is good considering the rivals (Citroen, Vauxhall etc)

None main dealer servicing prices OK

I own a Scenic alize 1.6 8valve petrol. Its been one problem after another. each costing an absolute fortune to fix.( e.g. a tiny nylon clip to attach the electric window mechanism to the glass .... cant buy it - only the full mechanism - price 200 ... "very common probloem mate" said the renault parts guy - what a joke - its like blackmail.) I actually LIKE this car quite a lot - But I'll NEVER buy another one - its just too expensive to keep. :-(
