Renault Scenic - Diesel Cambelt Change Intervals

Hello,

Another newbie here !

Can anyone tell me what mileage the cam belt needs changing on the 1.5 Diesel Scenic (2004 model) ?

Also are there any other major bits that need changing ?

And finally, whats the difference between the 80 BHP and 100 BHP 1.5 engine and is there a way of finding out which engine version a car has ?

Thanks,
Dave

Needs changing at 72k or 5yrs. Whilst doing it make sure the tensioner kit is changed and it's a good idea to do the water pump at the same time

I'd like to know that too, mine has a sticker at the bottom of the driver's side door pillar that says 1.5 dci 80 , but the registration document says dci 100 ...

I'd be more likely to go with the door pillar ..... any Renault Dealer will be able to confirm from the chassis number and details on the "Oval Plate" ..... not the V5/registration number which will just tell you the registration details.

Hope it helps

Why is it the older I get .... the better I think I was ?

Thanks for the replies.

My user name suggests I have a Scenic, but I haven't yet, I am looking at one on Saturday, hence the Cambelt question, as the potential car has done 78,000 miles. Would I be daft buying a 3 year old car with this sort of mileage ?

Regards,
Dave
