Re: Renault Scenic 2 - Rear Brake Pad Replacement

AWESOME Post !!!! Thanks !!!

Small quick update. Obviously on the Lucas or TRW calipers you need to push the front pistons straight whereas you need to push while rotating clockwise the rear pistons. New technologies make it hard to believe for old timers... By the way a c-clamp plus a flat screw driver do the job perfectly

Regarding the new bolts coming with the pads, you only have two as only the lower two need to be opened and replaced. The reason being that once you remove those, you can simply open the caliper upward, get the pads off, put silicon in the rubber boots if necessary, brush/clean the abutment surfaces to ensure that pads will slide probably (thus release the rotor once the piston is released; you may use a tiny bit of anti seize copper compound on the surfaces in contact with the caliper or the clips), position the new pads, close the caliper such that the spring wings are both compressed properly.
