Re: Renault Scenic 2 - Rear Brake Pad Replacement

Hi,

Does anyone know how to get the rear discs off. I have taken the caliper off and hub nut and then began hitting with a hammer as I have in the past. The disc ripped away from the hub. It is a disc with built in bearing. Do I just keep hitting what is left with a hammer?

You've got the disc off, but left the bearing in place then. You must have been really whacking it!!

You'll need to get a puller on that I'd say.

Smile Re: Renault Scenic 2 - Rear Brake Pad Replacement

I am researching whether too attempt changing rear pads on my Grand Scenic MkIII. I am presuming that the last model is very similar to this one (unless anyone can tell me otherwise)? Thank you so much to Gonescenile and Jonny53 for their instructions and photos. These have both given me the confidence to do the job myself. Rear pads for my car were 20 at carparts4less with free delivery- very reasonable. The wind-back tool was 13 on EBay with LH and RH tools. That has saved me a good 90 overall and the wind-back tool can be used on virtually any car. When pushing back the piston on the front caliper, I used the flat panel in the wind-back kit and a mastic gun - worked really well.
