Re: Renault Scenic 2 - Rear Brake Pad Replacement

Do a search, there is a post about resetting the handbrake. However, you may need to have diagnostic done to turn off the dashboard nag.
First thing, is to get it working, most work OK with the "check handbrake" nag.

BTW DemonXP is completely wrong about winding back the calipers. Later Renault REAR calipers must be wound back using the tool that you used. Fords also have a similar set up. It is imperative that you do this. Forcing it back will damage the caliper. Front calipers just push straight back. I bought a laser wind back too and it covers all of the modern and popular makes.

Is the laser tool the six sided cube that is turned using a 3/8 drive? If not can you give me the part number for the tool, thank you

Re: Renault Scenic 2 - Rear Brake Pad Replacement

Hi,
I'm resurrecting an old but useful thread. I'm in the process of changing my pads and discs.

Pads ok but the discs.... there are 2 caliper bolts holding the caliper in place a 13mm socket/spanner fits them but they are not normal nuts, they have recesses (the head of the nut looks like a torx bit) and the spanner is going to (started to) slip and round off the nuts.
I got the larger 36mm stub nut off ok and the brake pad carrier is off but I can't get the caliper housing out to pull the disc.

I daren't go any further, does anyone know what the tool is to remove these?

many thanks
PG
