Renault Scenic - Interiors - Automatic Volume Regulator...?

Hello fellow Renault drivers.

We are new to this forum, so please be gentle with us

We have recently purchased a Scenic 1.6 Priviledge and when we are driving along the radio is supposed to get louder according to the speed and 'loudness' of the engine. When we first picked up the car the radio volume used to 'dip' when we pulled away and we took it back to the dealer and they 'reset' it. Since then, the radio doesn't seem to do anything in particular - the sound does not seem to increase at any particular speed or engine noise and we have customised the settings as written in the handbook. Sometimes the volume will increase when you approach 36mph and sometimes it will increase when approaching 50mph. There are also times when the radio will just 'dip' for no apparent reason Has anyone else had this problem or does anyone know how we can make the dealer take some notice of us when we return to them and ask them to change it under the manufactures warrenty. We only puchased the car in September 05.

Any help gratefully recieved.

my Laguna has a Cabasse System, look at the manual, in German it is called GALA (Geschwindigkeits-Abhaengige Lautstaerke Anpassung == speed dependant volume); you can switch it on or off.

There may also be a "sensitivity" adjustment for this auto volume control. If yours is set to minimum that may explain why it doesn't apear to work.
In the handbook there should be instructions telling you how to set/adjust this feature. Our system is also the Tuner iList Cabasse Auditorium unit and both the setting and sensitivity are user adjustable.
This feature appears to work better on some cars than others, Citroen and Peugeot systems don't really work, Ford,Vauxhall and Renault ( or at least on our Laguna) systems do. It is only a subtle difference, if you are not entirely happy just switch the feature off and use vol controls as you wish.

Thumbs up

Hi, on my Scenic 2004, if you presss and hold the source button on the stereo it brings up a menu which you can scroll through, and on mine one function is the automatic volume control. On my Scenic it seems to have 5 settings available, maybe your vehicle has a similar option, regards Damian.
