I'm not sure your electric window symptoms are consistent with the regulator failing - puzzled by the lack of noise from door - but if they are then replacing the regulator is a fairly easy job.
It's not too hard to take the door cards off to have a look, or you may be able to see pieces of broken white plastic in the drain holes underneath the door.

As far as I know there is no distinction between motor and regulator. I have just bought a regulator for a Clio which I think is very similar, and it comes complete with the motor. I bought it for around 55 from, next day delivery, although I have since learned that GSF also stock them. And as you mention they are available on eBay .

Good luck!

As mentioned in the "regulator brackets on ebay " thread Renault are now able to supply replacement brackets to repair the most frequent failure mode of the window regulator assembly. The new ones are much stronger, with a metal insert moulded into the nylon body.

But unfortunately, the parts catalogue door assembly page hasn't been updated to show the bracket as a separate spareable item, hence the first reponse from the 2 parts departments I talked to today was "no - can only supply the full regulator assembly."

Getting them to dig out the tech note on the failures, revealed the bracket (would be better named as the sliding bracket) can be replaced, and I then even managed to convince them to look at the tech note to identify the replacement part number!

For the rear windows , the two brackets (both sides of car) are supplied under part number 7701209366 for 3.04 inc VAT. Took about 1/2 hour to strip cover / replace bracket / refit door.

Left the parts dept bloke looking a a bit guilty - he admitted hed sold 3 full regulator assemblies in the last week alone to fix this fault. Using the 3 (sorry 1.50 a side) part and own labour just saved me the 200+ the others owners had paid each.

hi cammy I had the same window go twice last year, they did them both under warranty, first time it went they did it free (you must speak to renault customer services )the second time same window went after 6 months they said because i didnt contribute any monies towards the window it wasnt under warranty and they would only give me 20% off but the dealership said dont worry we will claim it back so I had it done free,my mom had a regulator go on her 03 megane and we managed to claim half back after it was done by writing customer services a letter with the enclosed bill.anyway good luck.
p.s Iknow a lad that works for renault and he said it was very common.
