Re: Renault Scenic - History and Model Phase

Hi guys, I'm looking at the two labels inside the drivers door that give all the codes for paint, model, trim, extra's etc. Where can I find a description for what all these codes mean?

Currently in kelbal's garage:
Grand Scenic 1.5dci

The GS didn't come out until 2004, it is therefore a Scenic 2, not a 1. As per the history post above. My earlier reply included again:

It is a Scenic. The early Mark 1s were known as Megane Scenics, badges were the other way round, 'Megane' on the tailgate, 'Scenic' on the rear doors. This is because they were based on the Megane subframe. Mark 1 Phase 2s were still known as Megane Scenics in some quarters, but officially now known as just Scenic. The 'Megane' badge on the rear doors is a tribute to the origins of the model.

Re: Renault Scenic - History and Model Phase

Today looked at and test-drove a 53 plate Scenic 1 1.6.
That must have been right at the end of the production run for the Mk 1.
Is there a list of start & finish vin numbers for this or any other model?
Decided to buy the car, not sure which model but it appears to be a production run-out special with the programmable aircon and alloys.

Re: Renault Scenic - History and Model Phase

Don't think there will be a start finish list for the vin.

The model type should be on the log book and is on an emblem on the inside of the glove box lid on mine.

Yours has climate control which was on a few models.
